2 Person Private Office at 7 Pancras Square, Kings Cross

Sustainable offices preserving the best of iconic original architecture in Kings Cross. We bought a site right at the gateway to the 67-acre King’s Cross Central development and have refurbished the existing Stanley building which is a small listed building (last example of one of the first examples of social housing in London) and then wrapped a new building around it to create a new 30,000 sq. ft. office building.Studio Downie Architects worked with Wells Mackereth to create space for a range of office sizes, meeting rooms, event spaces and co-working spaces. We also went Green again with a green roof terrace, rainwater harvesting, PV panels, CHP heating and a proper lighting strategy (sensors, low energy etc.).

At the gateway to the Kings Cross central development, the Stanley Building is one of the first examples of social housing in London and as such is listed, and worthy of it too. We’ve wrapped around it with a new 30,000 square feet of office space, keeping the original brickwork intact, and made it super sustainable, with rainwater harvesting, CHP heating and an intelligent lighting strategy.
